About Bob Hillary
Bob is a folk Singer-songwriter, Author, Earth protector, & Permaculturist who makes music that is earthy, soulful & simple. He is a passionate advocate of the 'Live Simply' movement that is currently spreading around the Globe, & is a keen practitioner of Yoga, Meditation and living naturally. He is actively engaged in bringing about much-needed change to outdated systems in the World, & his songs have this message running strongly through them. His music & books carry a strong message for this time.

His debut album ’NATURE’S PACE’ was recorded in the wild mountains of Scotland in a fully analogue studio with producer Robin Wynn-Evans (Dodgy, Manic Street Preachers). His debut album is both spacious & wildly beautiful. Bob’s simple quirky folk songs with impeccable full band production.

His 2nd Album ‘LOVE’ was recorded at Iguana World Music studios in London in 2012 - & caught the attention of The Big Chill record label. ‘Love’ was released on the label & lead single ‘The Earth Song’ received Radioplay on BBC Introducing & 6 Music - & is a globally loved & appreciated song.

In 2014 Bob & his wife moved Off-Grid to the mountains of Wales - & the ‘back to the earth’ lifestyle inspired his 3rd album ’SIMPLIFY’ - also released on the Big Chill label to global appreciation. An album of grounded, simple conscious folk songs, the album was recorded in Glastonbury & was produced by Real World Studios producer Ben Findlay (Robert Plant/ Kasabian).

In 2021 - after 3 intense covid lockdowns & a divorce - Bob’s new Album ’SACRED’ began to form. Bob was approached by renowned producer Matt Butler (John Martin, Rolling Stones, Paul Macartney) who had heard Bob’s new songs - & it was suggested that they take the songs to famous Rockfield Studios in Wales - & record an album ‘for these times’. With a full soul band behind him - & a choir of Gospel singers singing glorious harmonies - the album ’Sacred’ was born.

With current Single ‘In the Light’ making waves across BBC Radio Stations - the album is being released via Absolute records to much excitement & anticipation in August 2022…
Bob & his band ‘the Family Band’ will be touring the new Album across the UK in Sept/ Oct 2022…
Bob has recently written a self-help book, titled ’Simplify - How to Stay sane in a World going Mad’ - which he describes as a 'Spiritual Survival Guide for how to stay sane & not lose your shit in these very confusing times we are living in…!’ It is published by Watkins Books.
